Picky Eating & Autism

When I find helpful resources, I love to share them with other parents. Recently I've discovered Melanie Potok, a  certified speech language pathologist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of feeding disorders. Melanie's blog offers wonderful articles and resources and I thought many "Kitchen Classroom" readers would appreciate her thoughts on autism and picky eating.

Cooking with Kids doesn't need to be perfect!

Messes do happen, spills occur...but the important thing to focus on is connecting and communicating with your child while teaching him/her the important skills to create healthy food. My son, who has autism, loves to cook with me--and that doesn't mean that every cooking experience is seemless or perfect. In this new video demo, you'll see moments when George gets sidetracked and wants to taste his cookie batter--but is able to work with me to get back on track! Write me with your cooking with kids questions at gabrielle@kitchenclassroom4kids.com.

Cooking for Kids with Special Needs

Click here to read the article. Please share with others who might be encouraged to get cooking with their kids!
